Mental Health Services

The focus of Crossroads Community Services Board is to prevent and treat the occurrence of mental illness, intellectual disabilities, substance use and co-occurring disorders and to enhance the functioning of individuals and families who experience these conditions. The major efforts of Crossroads are directed toward transformation into a true community based system of care in which the individual participates in a service system based on principles of recovery.All programs and services use the recovery model in which active participation and peer support are essential elements.

Adult and children residents of Amelia, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway and Prince Edward Counties are eligible for services.Crossroads accepts insurances for the payment of services, however, if an individual does not have insurance, Crossroads uses a sliding fee scale based on federal poverty guidelines in which the individual is assessed a fee for service based on income and number of individuals in the home.

Emergency/Crisis Intervention Services

Provides crisis intervention services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for all persons who experience acute emotional crises related to mental illness, substance use, intellectual disability and co-occurring disorders. This includes prescreening for public or private psychiatric hospital admission or evaluation for admission to a chemical addictions detoxification or treatment center.
